You finish the AP Statistics syllabus and start to review. How do you know what concepts to stress? How do students know the areas in which they are weak and which they are strong?
Test Your Strength is a practice test intended to ascertain the areas of strength and weakness for each student. This multiple choice exam is intended for students to take at home. Students email the answers to you (or bring in an answer sheet) and, using an included Excel spreadsheet, the exam is instantly graded. And in addition, a form is inmmediately generated that provides a detailed analysis of every AP statistics skill and how well the student understands it. The analysis is further broken down to the 5 basic areas of the course: descriptive stats, association, sampling and experimentation, probability, and inference. It is also further broken down into problems that stress calculation skills and those that stress reading and terminology.
Test Your Strength is a diagnostic tool. The exam has 50 multiple-choice questions. It covers all aspects of the current AP Statistics curriculum in proportion to their importance in the course and on the AP exam. For instance, an important topic inference like normal distributions is covered multiple times while a topic like power regression may only be touched upon twice. By keeping track of how many questions a student answers correctly within each topic, a table is constructed containing all the important topics of AP Statistics and how the student performs in each. The table is constructed instantly upon input of the 50 answers and a teacher can grade an entire class in just 15 minutes.
And while students see the areas in which they need to work, you can also get an idea of the areas in which the class needs work.
This is not intended to be a practice AP exam. It is a diagnostic tool to aid students and teachers in those vital 3 weeks before the actual AP exam.
